Whether you want to learn more about Jewish history and people, are considering converting to Judaism, or are eager to bring more Jewish culture into your life, the Miller Introduction to Judaism Program is for you.
The Miller Introduction to Judaism Program is an 18-week course that provides fundamental knowledge, practical skills, and clarifying insights into Jewish culture. No matter your age or background, everyone is welcome to join Intro to Judaism and learn about the Judaism's holy texts, and the Jewish people's many rituals, values, and holidays. Each cohort will explore Judaism’s past, present, and future with guidance from community rabbis and other Jewish clergy in the Kansas City area. Consider taking this Jewish class to find out more.
This course is taught through a collaborative educational partnership with The Miller Introduction to Judaism Program of American Jewish University.
Text book, course materials, additional resources and more are included in program tuition of $360.
This is an in-person course. Scholarship is available on an as-needed basis.

Introduction to Hebrew
This welcoming beginner course is designed for English-speaking adults who want to start learning Hebrew from the ground up. With a supportive, step-by-step approach, students will build confidence in reading, writing, and speaking Hebrew while gaining a strong foundation in the language.
The class uses an immersive yet approachable style that helps learners gradually become comfortable with Hebrew in real-life contexts. Clear explanations and guided practice make it accessible even for those with no prior language experience.
Whether you’re learning Hebrew for travel, personal growth, or connection to Jewish life and Israel, this course offers a friendly and encouraging space to begin your journey.
Instructor: Tami Sal
Tami is a passionate Hebrew educator at HBHA and Congregation Beth Shalom. Born in Israel, she brings decades of teaching experience and a deep love for language, culture, and learning into her classroom. She is excited to guide students as they take their first steps in Hebrew.
