Programs & Classes

From art classes to holiday celebrations, Heritage caters to all interests. We operate a five-day-a-week program offering a multitude of activities, programs, and classes conveniently located at The Jewish Community Center in Overland Park.

The mission of Heritage is to encourage adults, ages 55 and over, to participate in educational, cultural, spiritual, fitness, and social programs in order to increase health, well-being, and connection to other individuals and the Jewish community. The focus of the program is on self-determination and self-direction in order to promote independence.

Inclement Weather: If Blue Valley Schools are canceled due to inclement weather, Heritage programs are canceled. This includes transportation, lunch, and all classes. Call 913-327-8044 for a recorded message of cancellations.

Being a Heritage member has benefits!

By becoming a member you will receive member pricing and access to member only programs, like art, ceramics, fitness classes, and day trips. You also receive home delivery of the Hello Heritage.

  • If you have a J membership, Heritage programs are an added benefit to you at no additional cost
  • For community members, the annual membership rate is $84

Financial assistance is available to those that demonstrate financial need. Membership to Heritage does not include benefits to Fitness | Sports | Aquatics or The White Theatre.

Kosher Lunches at Heritage

Lunch is served Monday through Friday at noon.

Heritage is a great place for a delicious, Vaad-supervised Kosher, fresh meal. Heritage offers kosher lunches Monday-Friday daily and offers special meals to go during the holiday seasons.

Reservations: To make a reservation, please call the Reception Desk at 913-327-8044 or stop by in person by 10 a.m. Reservations are taken up to two weeks in advance.

Menu: If you don't like the main entree on the menu, no problem. We offer the following alternatives with advanced notice by emailing or calling 913-327-8044: egg salad, tuna salad, gefilte fish, and garden salad.

Cost: $10 for members 55+ | $12 for guests and individuals 54 and younger

Transportation for Heritage Members

Transportation to and from Heritage is a service provided by The J. Limited door-to-door group rides are available Monday through Friday. New riders should call Heritage for assistance in setting up their first ride.
Cost: $2 each way
