The J offers two different adult basketball leagues on Sunday mornings

The Open League for all ages 16 and over and the 37 and Over League. Those 37 and over may opt to play in either league. J staff reserves the right to combine leagues if registration numbers warrant. Players sign up individually for the league of your choice. The J is a family community center and does not tolerate belligerent or inappropriate behaviors. Players who do not act appropriately are subject to suspension and dismissal from the program.

Rosters are small and full court games are played 4 on 4 to maximize playing time for all participants. Referees and scorekeepers are provided for all games. Standings are kept for each division. Register at least one week before the start date, but each league has a capacity, so registration is first come first served. Each season consists of 9-10 games for each team.

Players are ranked 1-5 based on skill (1 being the strongest 5 being the weakest). Rankings have nothing to do with position on the court i.e. if you are a 5 that does not mean you are a post player. Players may suggest a rank for themselves while registering (J staff and Players Committee have the right to adjust player rankings based upon such things as performance in previous leagues and the level of other players registered).

Players may submit rosters of up to 5 if teams are properly ranked 1-5. Roster requests are not guaranteed, and player rankings may be altered based on other players registered for the league. J staff reserves the right to adjust teams and rankings to balance league and keep parity within the league.

Free Agents are welcome to play in either league. Based on league registration and already known player ranks, Free Agents may have to play up or down a rank to fill in roster spaces.

Player ranking for each team will be confirmed at our preseason meeting. Teams are expected to have a team representative present to assist in this process. After the preseason meeting rosters will be finalized and game schedules will be sent out. J staff/Committee members reserve the right to adjust player ranking based on performance after the second week of regular season and before the post season begins.
