Heritage Travels to various places both in the greater Kansas City area and the outskirts of both Missouri and Kansas. Join us for a fun-filled educational day with a stop for lunch at various restaurants, and sometimes we even stop for ice cream!

All stories, even great ones, must come to an end. The Arabia Steamboat Museum will be closing its doors in November 2026 after over 30 years in Kansas City. Our visit will include a series of short videos that show the story of this historic excavation and a short movie. Afterwards we will see the treasures recovered from Arabia and watch preservationists restoring artifacts in our lab. Lunch at The Farmhouse.

Join us for a fun day out in Leavenworth/Lansing! Start with free time to stroll downtown Leavenworth- grab coffee, breakfast, or browse the local shops. Then, dive into the fascinating history of the Lansing Kansas State Penitentiary with a guided tour. Note: The tour will begin at 12:00, so we will not be stopping for lunch as a group.

Indulge your senses on this flavorful day trip! We will begin with a guided tour of the Chip’s Chocolate Factory, where you’ll see (and smell!) the chocolate-making process from start to finish and enjoy samples along the way. Following the tour, you will have free time to enjoy lunch on your own at one of Crown Center’s many dining options. In the afternoon, we will visit the BBQ Museum, celebrating one of Kansas City’s most iconic culinary traditions.

Join us as we visit Union Stations exhibit “Titanic: An Immersive Voyage:” Board the ship. Encounter a fascinating story filled with rare artifacts. Step into dramatic room recreations. And witness the Titanic’s final heartbreaking moments from your seat on a lifeboat. Along your journey, experience cutting-edge technology that brings to life the humanity and heroism aboard the most famous and tragic ocean voyage in history. After, we will go to lunch at Milwaukee Delicatessen Company.

Join us as we visit the newly renovated and expanded Overland Park Farmer's Market! Vendors offer a wide variety of products, including fresh produce, locally made foods and unique specialty items. The Farmer's Market is a great way to shop local, eat seasonally and support the community.

Visit the Irish Center of Kansas City for the "perfect pour" of Guinness and enjoy a lively Irish dance performance. Browse Browne's Irish Market, a Kansas City landmark since 1887, for Irish goods before heading to Conroy's in Westwood for lunch.

Find resources and information to help older adults live and age well at this year's expo, featuring booths from local businesses and Johnson County Government agencies. Attendees can explore services supporting health, independence at home, financial stability, lifelong learning and caregiver support, all designed to keep older adults active and connected.
