Wine History
Join us for a brief, but comprehensive overview of Israel’s wine history. From the first mention of wine in the Torah, to viticulture‘s impact on the establishment of the Israeli state, to the technological revolution the country is currently experiencing. To help tell the story, we will taste through five of Israel’s top wines, each with its own story and contribution to the Israeli wine industry and the country's history.
Kosher wine - not your bubbe’s sweet wine.
Let’s face it, for far too long the term, "kosher wine" has had a bad rap. Join us to learn about the oldest codified wine laws in the world and dispel the myths surrounding kosher wine. From the vineyard, to the winery, to your glass, we will discuss the entire kashrut process while tasting amazing kosher wines from France, Italy, Hungary, and of course, California.
Aaron Fry, Sommelier
Aaron cut his teeth in the KC restaurant industry as a teen and fell in love with food, wine, spirits, and hospitality. After many years working in some of KC’s best restaurants, Aaron made the transition to the distribution side of the industry in 2013. Aaron is now the proud owner of Bonded Beverage, a wine and spirits wholesale company in Missouri.
A certified wine and spirits geek and an Advanced Sommelier, Aaron is a member of KI synagogue where he sits on the board. If he had spare time, he would enjoy playing disk golf, and cheering on the CHIEFS. Aaron is blessed with a great head of hair, an awesome wife, and two really great kids.
