The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City opened in 1914 in midtown Kansas City, Missouri, and has grown and adapted to serve the changing needs of Greater Kansas City’s Jewish and secular communities. We are a welcoming community that embodies Jewish values in a safe and respectful environment. People of all ages and backgrounds learn and grow at our home away from home.
To build a strong, vibrant and inclusive community that enhances wellness, meaning, and joy, based on Jewish values, heritage, and culture.
It is with great pride that we pass on Jewish culture and values through our programs, exhibits, events, and classes at The J. We also believe that The J is uniquely positioned to bring members of our diverse community together by offering a number of free programs and collaborating with organizations of other faiths and backgrounds.

The J has a state-of-the-art fitness center, including the newly opened 32,000 sqft expansion. But we're more than just a gym -- we're a true community. Join us for a Broadway-style production in our 500-seat Lewis and Shirley White Theatre, a youth baseball game on our turf stadium, a ceramics wheel-throwing class in our brand new art studio, or at the Olympic-sized outdoor pool with slides and splash area. No matter your age, background, faith, or fitness level, you'll find a program at The J community center in Overland Park that you love and will quickly see why this is your home-away-from-home.
