Sports for Pre-K and Kindergarteners

FUNatics sports classes are specifically designed to introduce kids, ages three to five, to sports by combining sports skills, motor and social skill development, and FUN.

All FUNatics sports classes are taught by J staff or outside specialists.

T-Ball

Mondays

T-Ball will teach your child the basic baseball skills using age-appropriate equipment and modified games in a 30-minute class. Participants will practice hitting the ball off a tee, throwing, and catching in a supportive environment.

Tuesdays

The J partners with Tiger - Rock Martial Arts of KC to offer Taekwondo classes. These 30-minute classes allow participants to learn self-control along with developing self-confidence and discipline in a non-aggressive manner.

This class introduces kids, ages 4-5, to the basics of football in a fun and safe environment, focusing on developing their motor skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Our basketball class engages preschoolers in the fundamentals of basketball through playful and age-appropriate activities. The class helps to build motor skills, physical coordination, and a love for the game.

FUNatics soccer is designed specifically for young players to get a lot of touches on the ball, which increases enjoyment and participation. We have created a safe and positive environment where kids can learn the game of soccer through playful training techniques and group activities.

Fridays

Taught by The J tennis staff, children will learn basic tennis skills. This class takes place outdoors weather permitting, otherwise class will meet indoors. Rackets and balls provided.

Children in CDC are picked up and brought to the gym and then returned as needed, eliminating your need to drive kids to sports in the evenings!
