General Rules
- Non-swimmers need to be within an arm’s length of a parent/guardian.
- Glass is not allowed on the pool deck or in the pool.
- Alcohol is not allowed.
- Children under 13 are not allowed in the hot tub, this includes soaking feet and legs.
- Please do not use the pool as a toilet.
- The J is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings.
Safety
- Full-face goggles are not allowed.
- Extended breath-holding is prohibited.
- There will be 10-minute safety breaks at the following times:
- Monday-Friday at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m.
- Saturday & Sunday at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m.
- Adults aged 18+ may continue to swim in the 50m pool at this time.
Inclement Weather
- The outdoor pool will close for 30 minutes after the last strike when lightning is reported within 10 miles of The J.
- If lightning is reported during the 30 minutes, the timer will reset to 30 minutes.
- During severe weather, the pool will be cleared, and members will be directed to safety points.

Attire
- Full-face goggles are not allowed.
- Swimmers who are not potty trained must wear two (2) breathable, reusable swim diapers to help prevent pool contamination.
- Street clothes are not allowed in our pools, swimsuits only.
- Please wear family-friendly swimsuits.
- Swimmers wearing indecent swimsuits will be asked to cover up or change and return to the pool.
Family Swim
- No open swim or family swim during group lesson times.
- Family swim time vs Lap Swim
- Lap Swim Lanes are designated for swimmers who are swimming full laps during a workout.

- No inflatable toys.
- Water guns are prohibited.
Aquatics Swim Test Policies
The J offers various swim lessons and classes to meet the needs of our members and the community. Using the American Red Cross swim curriculum, our mission is to provide swimmers with a safe, encouraging, and fun environment to learn and master swimming skills.
Swim Test for Pool Slides
From 11 a.m.-7 p.m., at the top and bottom of every hour, there will be a 10-minute window for youth who are under 48” to take our swim test.
- The Pool Slides are open to all who are over 48” tall.
- Youth under 48” tall will need to take a swim test each summer. Upon passing the swim test, they will get a slide bracelet.
- Summer tests will take place during safety breaks, seven days a week.
