Details
Explore contemporary antisemitism, its history and how we can be empowered to act when confronted with antisemitism in our everyday lives.
Many in the Jewish community (and beyond) find themselves encountering various manifestations of antisemitism and hearing or seeing misinformation and disinformation related to Judaism, Zionism, and Israel. October 7th and the ensuing war has exacerbated existing divisions and misunderstandings around these topics as well. Members of our community are seeking guidance and training to be able to call out both obvious and less overt antisemitism when it occurs, respond to misinformation and disinformation, and to educate the wider community about our people, our culture, and our history.
Jewish Experience, a collaboration of The J and Jewish Federation, and JCRB|AJC invite you to apply for a cohort experience to learn about and educate against antisemitism. The goal of Knowledge As Power: Educating Against Antisemitism class is to provide you with the history, resources, and empowerment to stand up against antisemitism in your daily life. This cohort will be led by JCRB|AJC staff, community partners, and guest speakers. This four-week course will take you through the history of the Jews, contemporary antisemitic tropes, and what we can do as individuals when confronted with these topics.
This program will take place Wednesday’s May 7, May 14, May 28, and June 4 from 7–9 p.m. in the evening, we ask that you commit to attend all four sessions a The J.
This is an application-based program cohort selection will be made and participants will be notified by email on April 28th.
