The White Theatre at The J is set to host “Piano Party!” this October 11-12, bringing a powerhouse cast of Kansas City’s top vocalists and musicians to the stage. The high-energy show, which is produced by Pop Project KC, blends storytelling, sing-alongs, and show-stopping musical numbers that connect Billy Joel to some of today’s biggest piano-playing pop stars, Lady Gaga and Chappell Roan.

Tickets are available now at TheWhiteTheatre.org. Performance dates and times include:

Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m.

“We’re bringing together a supergroup of Kansas City’s piano bar legends, including Broadway veterans, national tour headliners, and KC SuperStar 2024 winner Magdalena Nguyen, featuring unforgettable music, laughter, and surprises,” said the show’s directors and co-executive producers of POP Project KC, Andrew Cotlar and David Gomez. “Expect sing-alongs, powerhouse performances, and even a comedic tribute to Lady Gaga’s meat dress — but this time it’s kosher couture, all hosted by the hilarious Gabbie Fried.

Billy Joel’s music has left an indelible mark on generations of musicians and music fans. “Piano Party!” highlights how his songs have inspired artists for decades, as the show blends timeless classics with today’s chart-topping hits to create a feel-good event where generations come together “one song at a time.” The performance features Val Fagan, Patrick Lewallen, Holly Lichtenauer, Luke Pyron, Aubrey Richardson, Natalie Rubio, Jacob Ross Thomas and Desmond Walker.

Co-executive producers Cotlar and Gomez, through Pop Project KC, bring inventive, community-driven concerts that bridge generations through the magic of live music. Their latest production “Piano Party!” promises to be a fun and unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages.

Audiences can expect to sing along to favorites including “Just the Way You Are,” “Bad Romance,” “Good Luck, Babe!,” “Uptown Girl," and “Piano Man.” The concert experience spans the atmosphere of New York City piano bars, West Hollywood lounges, and the small-town roots of the Midwest Princess herself, creating an experience built for making memories with the entire family.

The 2025-26 season at The J continues with “Hello, Dolly!” Nov. 1–23. The classic musical follows matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi as she sets out to find a partner for wealthy bachelor Horace Vandergelder, blending humor, romance, energetic dance and timeless songs.

Full descriptions and performance times for each event are available at TheWhiteTheatre.org. Auditions for musicals and plays produced at The White Theatre are announced online and on Facebook.

The White Theatre is located at The J — 5801 W. 115th St., in Overland Park — and features fully accessible seating, assistive listening devices, secured entrances and free parking. Tickets are available online at TheWhiteTheatre.org and at the box office, open Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and one hour before the show on performance days.
