The heart and soul of the blues resonates with full force in Blues in the Night, an electrifying musical that received a Tony nomination, co-produced by The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City! The show features 26 passionate and soul-stirring songs that narrate the sweet, sensuous, and heart-wrenching tales of three women who find themselves entangled with a lying, cheating snake of a man.

With minimal spoken dialogue, the entwined narratives are brought to life through the enchanting songs and performances. From the melancholic melodies of Bessie Smith to the timeless compositions of Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Alberta Hunter, Jimmy Cox, Ida Cox, and many others, these tunes convey the agony and ecstasy of life and love. They also portray the unwavering determination to endure it all, encapsulating the true essence of the blues.
