Sports Camp

Summer Camp for Members & Guests, Entering 1st - 7th grade

8 weekly sessions
9 am - 4 pm M-F
Early Care: 7-9am | Late Care: 4-6 pm

Sports Camp is for Campers who enjoy playing sports and being active. Each week has a sports theme. Our staff work with Campers to emphasize sportsmanship and teamwork. Sports Camp includes games, archery, sports skill sessions, swimming, and special events. Sports Camp also includes:

  • Participation in group tennis sessions led by The J tennis professional, Todd Perkins.
  • Group swim lessons with Red Cross Certified Swim Instructors. Generally, 1st and 2nd graders have lessons four times weekly and 3rd and 4th graders have lessons two times weekly. More info available here >
  • Games such as GaGa, Wall Ball, and other fun camp activities.

Each week will include a variety of sports activities with a focus on one specific sport. Some weeks will include a field trip, and some weeks will include an Undernight.

Some weeks will also include an option to enroll in Next Level Advanced Sports Camp. See below. 

What is an undernight? 

A special activity at J Camp where campers can choose to stay at Camp on select Wednesday nights from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Campers will participate in special games and activities, a cook-out, an extra swim, and a campfire with songs, sports trivia and s’mores. There is no extra charge for Undernights.

A Day in the Life

Every group is different, but here is a great sampling of what your Camper could be doing each day!

9:00 Morning Warm-Ups
9:15 Swim Lessons (1st & 2nd Grade 4 times weekly; 3rd & 4th Grade 2 times weekly)
10:00 Sport of the Week – Drills and Skills sessions
11:30 Lunch
12:00 Electives: Archery, Tennis, games and more.
1:00 All-Camp Games or Tournaments
2:15 Free Swim
3:45 Get ready to go home

Next Level Advanced Sports Camps

Summer Camp for Members & Guests, Entering 3rd- 7th grade

6 Weekly Sessions
9 am - 4 pm 
Early Care: 7-9am | Late Care: 4-6 pm

Enrollment limited to 20 J Campers per session. 

Take your game to the Next Level with a week of both sport-specific training and core athletic training all under the direction of knowledgeable coaches dedicated to helping young athletes.  Athletes will be divided by age/skill level as appropriate. In the afternoon, Next Level Sports Campers will join Sports Camp for swimming and sports activities. 

 A half-day (Monday-Friday from 9 am-noon) Next Level Advanced Sports Camp option is also available to 3rd-7th graders. More information will be available in January.

Special Date Sports Camps

Summer Camp for Members & Guests

Experienced Coaches from Sports + Rec at The J will lead Campers through drills to improve sports skills each morning. Participants will be separated by age group for most drill work. Bring a water bottle and come dressed to play the game. Campers will join J Camp in the afternoon for lunch, swimming, and camp activities.

Sports include: Baseball/softball, soccer, and basketball
