About Encore!

Encore! School of the Arts: "Dance, Sing, Enjoy." Classes are available for preschool, beginners, intermediate and advanced students in a wide range of performing arts skills; Tiny Tots, Boys Only!, Creative Movement, Ballet/Tap Combo, Tumbling, Lyrical, Jazz/Hip Hop, plus Performance Team. Encore! offers something for everyone! Students must have appropriate shoes and wear dance attire. Hair must be pulled back. Tap, ballet and jazz shoes are available for order through Encore! Class calendar will be handed out the first day of class. We also have private music lessons available in voice, piano, guitar, harp and steel drum.

All classes are open to girls and boys unless otherwise noted. Students are welcome to do make-up classes throughout the week. Multi-class and sibling discounts available. 

Contact Maggie with questions or to set up your monthly payment plan. Classes with 3 or fewer enrolled are subject to combining or cancellation. Make up classes available during the week. Calendars will be sent home the first week of classes. Optional Winter Showcase on December 8th, $20 t-shirt fee. Optional Annual Recital May 21st. Recital fee $60-$85, depending on class. Summer PreComp and Comp Masters Classes

Comp & PreComp Masters include dancers from The Kansas City Ballet, The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, K-State Klassy Kats, the national tour of Dirty Dancing & The Wiz! These are going to be full of great knowledge and exposure for our dancers! Drop in to them for $20 per class ($25 non-members) or $135 for all! We must have students a minimum of 3 students enrolled to run master classes.

Competition + Performance Team


Sunday, July 30th from 4-6 p.m.
Studio 3

Dancers: please wear jazz shoes, leotards and have hair pulled up.

This audition will help our students become comfortable with the audition process and will also be used to determine our competition groups for the fall. 

*Students reaching the team requirements will be selected for the teams they are interested in.  All students auditioning for Performance Team will be selected.  However, the Competition Team will have different groups. Students are not guaranteed a spot in all the Competition group dances.

Performance Team Requirements: Entering grades 1st-8th.  Enrolled in at least 1 other Encore dance class during the week.  Students must show dedication to the team, have outstanding attendance, and understand that they are committed to a team.  They will work hard & push themselves to become confident performers.  These students are ambassadors for our program and leaders among the students. 

Competition Team Requirements: Entering grades 3rd-8th.  Enrolled in at least 2 other Encore dance class during the week, and have at least 1 year of Performance Team experience.  Must be enrolled in the category they are competing in and available for additional group rehearsals during the week (Sept-May), Sundays, and 3-4 weekends in the Winter/Spring.  Students must show dedication to the team, have outstanding attendance, and be willing to take critiques.  They will work hard & push themselves to become better with each performance.  These students are held to a high standard and are expected to be leaders in and out of the studio.   Additional fees are incorporated with the competition team.  Contact Maggie for the Competition Team packet if you would like more details. 

Rising Stars Scholarship

Supported by a grant from the Reat Griffin Underwood Rising Stars Fund, the Rising Stars Scholarship was established to help young people pursue their passion for the performing arts. Reat loved singing, dancing, and performing and both the fund and scholarship honor his spirit and memory. Applicants are applying for assistance with dance, tumbling or private voice or piano lessons. To download the scholarship application, click here.
