Box Office

Hours

The Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 10 am - 2 pm. Patrons may call, email or receive assistance in person. Contact the Box Office at (913) 327.8054 or via e-mail >

Will Call

Should a patron wish to pick up their tickets on the day of the performance, we offer a Will Call desk. Tickets may also be printed from home or left on your cell phone for scanning. You chose your option at the time of the sale. Options cannot be changed after the sale is complete.

Ticket Exchanges

Single ticket sales are final and not subject for exchange or refund.

Season Tickets may be exchanged ONCE per show. Additional changes to season tickets are subject to a $2.00 per ticket charge for a change. Same seat selection with an exchange is NOT guaranteed.

Refunds

Refunds of Single Tickets are under ‘Unusual Circumstances’ ONLY and at the discretion of the Box Office Manager.

Concessions

The White Theatre has a concession stand that opens pre-performance and during intermission. For 7:30 pm productions, the stand opens at 6:45 pm. For 2:00 pm productions, the stand opens at 1:15. We have a variety of cold and hot drinks, fresh baked cookies and pretzels and chips available for sale. We take credit cards, cash and checks. A kosher option is available.

Encore!

Encore! School of the Arts: "Dance, Sing, Enjoy." Classes are available for preschool, beginners, intermediate and advanced students in a wide range of performing arts skills; Tiny Tots, Boys Only!, Creative Movement, Ballet/Tap Combo, Tumbling, Lyrical, Jazz/Hip Hop, plus Performance Competition Team. Encore! offers something for everyone! Students must have appropriate shoes and wear dance attire. Hair must be pulled back. Tap, ballet and jazz shoes are available for order through Encore! Class calendar will be handed out the first day of class. We also have private music lessons available in voice, piano, guitar, harp and steel drum.

All classes are open to girls and boys unless otherwise noted. Students are welcome to do make-up classes throughout the week. Multi-class and sibling discounts available.

Facility and Amenities - White Theatre

Backstage

Only cast, crew and staff are allowed backstage. Family members and friends may visit anyone in the cast or crew in the lobby hallway outside the door marked, “Backstage” after the performance.

Cell Phones

We ask our patrons to place cell phones to silent or vibrating mode before the performance begins.

Doors

The White Theatre doors open 30 minutes before show time.

Entrances

Patrons may enter the Jewish Community campus at any open door. The main entrances include the main north entrance and the west entrance closest to the theatre.

Food/Drink

Only bottled water with a cap is allowed in the White Theatre during performances. Our concession stand is open 45 minutes before a performance closing 15 minutes before a performance begins and during intermission

Intermission

Most productions/performances at The White Theatre will have a 15 minute intermission.

Late Seating

Based on the needs of a production, an all-door hold may be instituted for late seating. This means that the House Manager will seat late arrivals at an appropriate time and reserved seating may not be honored at that time, but patrons may move to their reserved seats at intermission.

Lighting

Theatre performances are generally dark. Standard aisle and entry/exit illumination is on during the performances and in compliance with fire and safety codes.

Parking

Parking is available anywhere around the Jewish Community Campus and is free.

Photography

No photography or videotaping is allowed (including cell phones). In addition to being distracting and potentially dangerous to the cast and audience, it is prohibited by our royalty contracts.

Seatback Surprises

Our Arts & Culture Patrons and Season Ticket holders receive a seatback surprise at each of our season performances. These adorable seat pockets contain notes and surprises throughout the season. Become a Patron or Season Ticket holder to get your fun goodies!

Sound

Hearing Assist devices are available upon request from the House Manager. These devices consist of a radio frequency receiver with an earbud adapter or you may bring your own headphone. The system is also equipped for hearing induction loop for individuals that have access to this feature built into hearing aids.

Temperature

The White Theatre is set to 72 degrees Fahrenheit. We recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater based on your personal preferences.

Community Partnerships

The J welcomes opportunities to partner with community organizations to create mutually beneficial relationships maximizing impact and reach. Our mission is to unite art, community and culture through creative engagement, education and enlightenment. We create a vibrant and inclusive hub reflecting Jewish culture, values and heritage while inspiring patrons to dream, discover, create and celebrate.

Partners can choose between the following:

  • One film screening
  • One performance of the production of choice (in-house productions, visiting artists)
  • One program of choice (literature, visual arts)

Expectations of Partner

  • $500 financial contribution or the equivalent
  • Speak before their program/performance
  • Co-promotion and advertising through their website, print material, social media and other associated marketing opportunities with measurable outcomes.
  • Signed agreement

Expectations of The J

  • Co-promotion and advertising through the website, playbill/program guide, social media, pre-screen reel and other marketing opportunities with measurable outcomes.
  • Space at no cost to organization for a social gathering (if requested-does not include Campus security & maintenance)
  • Opportunity to hand out literature related to organization
  • Management of ticketing, space, technology (audio/video/lighting)
  • Provide support staff necessary to success of event (House Manager, Sound/Lighting Technician, Ushers, etc…)
  • Provide up to four complimentary tickets to the event.
  • Signed agreement

The J’s Arts & Culture department reserves the right to:

  • Include a corporate sponsor for the same event if applicable (note-wording will be mutually agreed upon)
  • Include the names of all Arts & Culture patrons in marketing materials

Season Tickets

Information and purchasing options for season tickets for our 2016-2017 season are available here >

Season tickets are processed in the order they are received on a first come, first serve basis. Each order form either sent in, received via email or by phone is time & date stamped. Specific seating requests will be honored based on accessibility needs and priority of request.

Season Package tickets are not guaranteed same seats if renewing, as seat selection is subject to the first come, first serve basis of form submission.

Season Packages are processed in the following priority, and then by date of form.

  1. Returning & New Arts Patrons / Donors to the Arts & Culture Department (June 1, 2016)
  2. Season Ticket holders from previous season (July 1, 2016)
  3. New Season Ticket requests. (August 1, 2016)

Season Package Tickets will, by default, be held in the system and batch printed for each night along with all other tickets. Should a patron wish to have all season tickets mailed, they will be done so after processed and are subject to a $1.50 mailing/postage charge.

Season Ticket Patrons who wish to have their tickets mailed may do so at any time. If patrons forget their tickets at home on the night of a performance, the box office may not be able to print a duplicate of their ticket if purchased as a group and the patron does not know which seat is specifically theirs. Once all parties have arrived and tickets have been narrowed down, it may be possible to print duplicates. It is strongly recommended that patrons keep their tickets for pickup at WILL CALL for each night of a performance. A Season Package Itinerary can be created and send via US Mail or Email to the patron as a reminder of their season ticket dates.

Single Tickets

Single tickets are purchased either online or by calling the Box Office at 913.327.8054. Single tickets to Mary Poppins are currently available here. Single tickets to our 2016-17 shows will be available August 1, 2016.

Purchase of Single Tickets is not available via email.

After a sale is complete, Single Tickets are NOT available for EXCHANGE, REFUND or DISCOUNTS.

Group Sales

The White Theatre welcomes groups to our performances. Entertain family, friends, clients and more! Groups of 10 or more receive our member rate of $18/musical or $16/play or visiting artist. Tickets will be received upon payment via mail or available at will call. Early reservations are encouraged to ensure your group can sit together.

  • Groups purchasing tickets must be in advance of a performance.
  • Group Discount is for 10 or more patrons.
  • Groups can purchase tickets over the phone or in person at the box office.
  • Groups may pay for tickets at time of purchase via Credit Card, Check or Cash.
  • f the group cannot pay at that moment or number of tickets reserved is subject to change an INVOICE may be created to assist in reserving tickets for the production.

INVOICES MUST BE PAID two weeks prior to the performance in attendance, or one week before the opening of the show; whichever comes first.

Private Special Engagements

The White Theatre offers a unique opportunity to host a private performance for your group. Special engagement performances cost $7500 and include a 500-seat theatre, reception room, private ticketing with company logo and

information, appropriate staffing, licensing, complimentary parking and room set up. This is a great experience for employee appreciation, group outings, client entertainment, cultivation and more. This program is also tax deductible.
