 STAGES at The J

Co-Teaching our Spring class will be Paul AdkinsKeith Wiedenkeller:

Paul Adkins is no stranger to the White Theatre, having worked in and around the theatre since 1994. He recently retired from the Blue Springs school district after thirty years teaching at the middle-school level, directing over twenty-two musicals in that time. Adkins grew up in New Jersey where he was able to attend many musicals and plays on Broadway, and got “hooked” on theatre, participating in his first play at age 12. While pursuing his educational career, Paul stayed connected to the theatre world through House Management and Box Office Management at various theaters around Kansas City, including Theater League, The Kansas City Symphony, Ballet and Opera, Starlight Theatre AND The White Theatre at The J! He’s absolutely thrilled to put his educational and theatre experience to work directing and teaching our Spring semester of Stages Musical Theatre Classes.

Keith Wiedenkeller (Managing Director / Director of Arts + Culture) brings a unique blend of Arts, business, and non-profit leadership experience to the role of Director of Arts + Culture at The J.  A lifelong patron of the Arts, accomplished performer, and technical theatre expert, Keith marries 29+ years of operations management and business leadership at AMC Theatres with a deep knowledge of the performing arts -- onstage, backstage, and front of house.  He has performed onstage, consulted, and created productions internationally (with AMC Theatres), locally (with Heartland Men’s Chorus, Kansas City Women’s Chorus, and Kansas City Civic Opera), and at the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts, where he taught and served as Technical Director during its formative years.  Wiedenkeller is an alumnus of the University of Cincinnati and University of Kansas Theatre Programs, is himself a “Friend of Arts + Culture” at the “Designer” level here at the J, and has served in leadership roles on numerous non-profit boards, including two Kansas City-based non-profits which he helped found.  He credits all of his success to the love and support of his spouse, partner, and chief advisor of 35 years, Anne.

For more information or questions contact Keith Wiedenkeller via email or at (913) 327.8073.
