The following exercise classes are under the direction of Fitness and Sports at The J. As a benefit to Members of The J, those with a senior single or senior couple membership may attend these classes. All are free of charge to J Members. Heritage Center Members who have paid the $54 membership fee may participate in these classes through the purchase of an exercise punch card (see prices below). Any questions regarding class time, location, schedule, cancellations or instructors should be directed to the Group Exercise Coordinator at (913) 327.8081. Exercise Punch Card
Purchase a 5-punch or 10-punch card and utilize it for the Heritage Center exercise classes listed below. Just bring your punch card to class and the instructor will take care of the rest. Cards may be purchased at the JCC main reception desk or in the Heritage Center office.

Pilates is an ordered series of exercises that help build flexibility, muscle strength and endurance. All floor work.Cost: 1 punch per class
One Hour Total Fit
One Hour Total Fitness is a conditioning class working on muscle strength, endurance, balance and flexibility. Cost: 1 punch per class
Gentle Floor Yoga
Gentle Floor Yoga classes are designed to open the body, stretch and tone the muscles, increase inner-awareness and also bring a sense of peace within. Cost: 1 punch per class
Gain freedom from potential falls using 24 movements to increase balance and flexibility. The class is easy to follow and beginners are not only welcomed, but encouraged to attend. Cost: 1 punch per class

Kinesis has an emphasis on controlled movements that help promote muscle strength, balance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. Cost: 1 punch per class
Chair yoga includes stretching poses (asanas), breathwork (prana yama) and meditation for the purpose of promoting flexibility and mobility. Instructor: Robin Jaffe
Tue/Thu | 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. | Studio 1
This low-impact class focuses on cardio, strength, flexibility and balance. Participants can sit or stand as exercises can be modified for all ages and abilities.
Mon-Fri | 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. | MAC Room
This class is low-impact and great for those just getting started on an exercise routine. Participants must obtain a Heritage Center restricted membership card available at The J Main Reception Desk. Instructor: Bonnie Pennington
Tue/Thu | 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. | Indoor Pool
Blood pressure readings are offered each month and glucose tests will be available in the odd month. The glucose test does require a 2 hour fast. Appointments not required.
