Mask Making for Seniors in Kansas City

Heritage Center mask sewing program for senior adults (65+)

The J is committed to the health and wellbeing of our Members and our community. We have created a program outlined below for making masks at home to supply to our at high-risk J Members, Heritage Center Members, Jewish Family Services, and residents at Village Shalom.

Not a semstress? We are also in need of fabric and elastic donations that we will then distribute so that more masks can be made.

This is not an N95 face mask that protects against all viruses. The CDC advises the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others. This mask includes an internal pocket for the use of additional filtering material if desired.
Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
